Problem:
SUSE doesn't connect the cable modem on rebooting if I've had the computer
off for a few hours. I have a Motorola SB5101 cable modem connected to an
Ethernet card. The modem works, Knoppix 3.9 boots and connects every time.
My Ethernet card is listed as already configured:
3Com 3C905C-TX Fast Etherlink for PC Management NIC Configured with DHCP.
What I supose is the cable modem is also listed as already configured:
Intel 82802 DB PRO/100 VE (LOM) Ethernet Controller Configured with DHC.
Niether of these is the cable modem as your YAST doesn't know what it is
getting its IP from. This seems to indicate that your box has 2 seperate
ethernet cards ( maybe one on the motherboard ans one as a PCI card? )
I suggest pulling one of the cards from the box and trying again. The
problem is that one of the cards is being used, but the other one has the
cable connected.
