Re: VNC causes 90+% CPU load

On 24/05/06 01:58, know code Scribbled:
Googled around a bit but couldn't find anything specific on this so
thought I'd ask here....

I have an Athlon 64 3700 with 1Gb RAM at home which used to run Windoze
XP Pro and RealVNC server with no problem, and very little CPU load. I
used the RealVNC server to log into my PC at home from a Windoze 2000
box in work.

I've recently installed 64-bit SUSE 10.1 on my home computer and I'm now
using the packaged VNC server (krdb). When nothing is VNC'd into the
home computer, no problem. But, as soon as something logs in through
VNC the CPU usage stays at 90+% permanently! As soon as the VNC session
closes, the CPU drops back to normal (<5%).

Surely this can't be normal but as a relative newbie to linux, could
anyone give me some pointers as to what might be wrong, or what logs I
should be checking?
NX is a much better alternative, have a look ;) (see
<url:http://madpenguin.org/cms/html/17/5755.html> as it is still
valid for 10.1)

Hope This Helped and MTFBWY...
