Yes he was and in the mailinglist this was already explained a LONG time
ago. It was explained (and better then in the interview) what the
decision was and how this decission was reached.

It's strange to see how many former Suse executives left Suse.

No. This is normal when a company is bought out. All the rest you are
telling is FUD.

If I'm counting well, it seems that 7 out of 8 former Suse executives have
left. Since Suse was GPL, why did Novell buy the company then?

One can't help but to wonder if the remaining team is really where it's
at.

One can but wonder why you are spreading FUD.

Maybe you're not reading this group... There are lots of problems with
Suse 10.1, much more than is normally expected from a final release.

I can tell you, but you
won't believe me, that the remaining team is really where it's at.

Time will tell. For now, I find it doesn't bode well.

Just to interject...

I am running 10.1 without any 'real' issues.. Yes, the update problems are a
small pain... But everything on my Sony GRT390ZP is working just fine...
I had no issues with the install.. (I elected to freshly install rather
than upgrade my 10.0, which had been U/G from 9.3, which was upgraded from
whatever version came before, and that on before it... ..)

Wireless was a quick Google search to find out that I needed to use
ndiswrapper or madwifi... again.. no big deal...

My only ongoing issue is the occasional lockup in the XGL/KDE/Compiz
setup... Which I knew BEFORE turning it on was "experimental"/not quite
ready for prime-time code..

I am happily running VMWare Player and Workstation, my GroupWise 7
crossplatform client... synching my Treo.. accessing the iPod, burning
DVDs, etc.. I haven't seen any issues with the things I 'need' SUSE for..

Maybe I am lucky, maybe my laptop is uniquely supported, but whatever the
case.. SUSE 10.1 is working just fine for me.

Certainly far better than anything churned out by the 'hacks' in Redmond...

Just my $.02

Tony
