I'm running Suse 9.3 on an IBM Thinkpad T42. When I do a suspend to
disk, after powering back on, the machine goes through a few steps, and
then stops with:
VFS: Cannot open root device "hda6" or unknown-block(0,0)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on
unknown-block(0,0)
I then have to power down, and power up again, to get things restarted.
How do I avoid this second power cycle - what's going wrong the first
time and how can I fix it?
I'd be delighted to receive any advice or recommendations.
thanks,

I have T43 running 10.0 and see occasional failures to come out of suspend, but not what you see. Two places to look for help:
thinkwiki.org
and the linux-thinkpad list serve:
