Package manager of choice

Hi,
we need to install a bunch of scripts through a single shell script. The
scripts require certain suse packages that shall be installed automatically
if not already installed.
There seem to be several possibilities to manage packages under Suse Linux.
Therefore I need to know which combination of tools will be used in the
future. RPM with yast? RPM with yum? APT? Red Carpet?
Depending on the answer, I also need to know how to install several packages
in a batch including their required packages. With APT I know it already,
quite easy there. ;)
Thanks and regards,
André
.
