A lot depends on how far it went into the upgrade. Normaly you should be
able to use the rescue mode from your original 9.2.
However as you said you work with IT people, I asume you might have a
second PC somewhere. Take out the HD, put it in another machine, mount
it and sercue your data first. That way, no matter what you do, your
data is safe.

Today I went outside. My pupils have never been tinier...
Simple question:
All data are in /home, so are my mail and it's settings. Thats what
I'm, really interested in.
If I do a fresh install and not an update, will my /home be overwritten
or kept ? If they are kept I can trash whatever I want, as the
important things are kept. The rest is only a matter of configuring
some apps.
by the way thanks to everybody for the suggestions. One other great
thing about Linux is that you're not alone.
