but I call that hung/stalled, not slow
Check top the next time 10.1 pulls this stunt for you. I started 10.1 YaST
today simply for some info to submit to the Novell online tip database. It
was taking an eon and a day; I flipped over to a console to look at top.
Seems (as I have whined about elsewhere) Beagle or whatever had pegged the
CPU at over 90% for several minutes. And YaST was deemed too pedestrian to
play with the Big Dogs, busy with vital noobs desktop pr0n collections. Or
granmas two bazillion baby pix, scattered over hell and half of Texas.
IMO, Beagle should be an *OPTION* during X desktop install phase.
And so for the time, I'm going to select the 10.1 minimal X install option
since it seems now to be the only way to keep Beagle in its doghouse.
