Google Earth and Vera Sans

Google Earth 4-BETA runs great on OpenSUSE 10.1! But has anyone
found a solution for the "Missing font" warning dialog that comes
up when G/E starts? It was being discussed in the "Google Earth
for Linux", which then turned into "Breweries" :) thread. (Or did
I miss the answer elsewhere?)

I do have all the Bitstream Vera fonts installed but can't find how
to make G/E see them.

Well - the text in G/E is all readable, but I keep thinking there
should be someway to make the Vera Sans font visible to it.
