1) Open Konqueror.
2) Right-click title bar, point to Advanced, and click Special
Window Settings.
3) Select the Geometry tab.
4) Check Maximized horizontally and Maximized vertically.
5) Click the drop down list that says Do Not Affect and select
Remember. Do this for both check boxes.
6) Click on OK.
7) Maximize the Konqueror window.
8) Close Konqueror.
9) Open Konqueror again.

It should now open maximized.
