Re: FYI... SUSE 10.1 trashed my XP partition.

Just an FYI post for anyone who's looking at doing an install...

The installation proceeded without any problems, except that instead of
resizing my XP partition, it trashed it. I ended up with an 8.4gig NTFS
partition and 41.5gig free space. The swap and / partitions were created as
expected.

I fucked up my new laptop - something about grub and the WinXP Tablet
edition suspend mode didn't like each other and the MBR went fubar.

All is well, now. Still, gateway is telling me, "the hardware was designed
for windows xp and we don't have linux drivers." I asked when they would.

WGA pissed us off so much that I'm doing whatever it takes to get off of
Windows. I've got a legal copy, yet Microsoft thinks its perfectly fine to
use MY CPU cycles to spy on me.

I haven't gotten an answer yet. In the meantime, I'm enjoying a fast laptop
with 1280x768 3d resolution and killer sound. Just need to get the touch
screen working. :)

Touch screen... <drool>

I'd like to find a source for a couple 15" LCD touchscreen monitors. Got a
CarPC project I'm trying to lay out.
