Should I give up on GnuCash2.0, or is it possible to install it on SUSE
10.1?

Isn't is available in YaST or on one of the repositories?
e.g. http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories#GnuCash

Just guessing.

At least then you know where to complain and who to ask to go to 2.0.
;-)

Negative Houghi. G-Wrap is not available. Installing elder versions
keeps some protests coming up.

So have you contacted the maintainer of said repo?
I asume you have also added suser-oc2pus as that had the additional
dependencies as explained at the URL.
