Re: Xine (and kaffeine) not working with basic MJPEG format (SUSE 9.2)

Did you install the gstreamer codecs and libraries? For example,

gstreamer-plugins-mp3-0.8.8-0.lvn.1.4.i386.rpm
gstreamer-plugins-extra-video-0.8.8-2.2.fc4.i386.rpm
gstreamer-plugins-extra-dvd-0.8.8-2.2.fc4.i386.rpm
gstreamer-plugins-extra-audio-0.8.8-2.2.fc4.i386.rpm

xmms-mp3-1.2.10-0.lvn.2.3.i386.rpm
speex-1.1.12-0.pm.0.i686.rpm

libxine1-1.1.1-14.pm.0.i686.rpm
libvorbis-1.1.1-0.pm.0.i686.rpm

Thank you for your answer.
I tried your rpm, but it's a dependency nightmare. I am using a SUSE
9.2 with all its multimedia-related packages installed. They are actually
quite old, but I am anyway suprised that they can't handle the simple
MJPEG format. I also tried to compile and install a recent xine-lib and
xine version, but probably it still use the old plugins. The only program
that works well is mplayer (also recompiled), maybe it has its own
decoders built in, but its user interface is very rude. What package do
you think is directly involved in MJPEG decoding? I could try to update
only this one, or recompile it.
Thank you again. Regards

Sorry if you used those rpms, I didn't intend for you to use those exact
rpms. Those gstreamers were Fedora Core 4 specific not suitable for Suse.

You needed to install gstreamer-plugins for SUSE9.2

Do you have Yast2 libraries ??
http://packman.iu-bremen.de
directory=Suse/9.2

http://ftp.gwdg.de/
directory=pub/linux/misc/suser-guru/rpm/9.2/

Also, check the Kaffeine and Gstreamer sites to make sure you have the
correct plugins for mpeg.

I'm on 9.3 it plays mp3, mpegs, jpegs, most wmvs using the w32codecs
( suck codecs I wish every would stop using)
.
