Update is broken again !!!

Suse 10.1 update is broken again. Installed 10.1 about 2 months ago, was
impressed until a update killed YaST; couldn't install or update
anything. Reinstalled 10.1 again (first mistake). installation went
smoothly the second time (stopped the first time installing packages
with about 4:00 minutes to go), even had mp3 support without having to
add packman as an installation source. Even had some updates to
download, so I updated the kernal and installed thunderbird. all went
fine. I figured that I would do the rest of the updates today ... BUT
NOOOO ! online update errors out, ans says that there are no updates to
install (there were over 200 last night).

I was using the Xen online update, which is giving me problems before.
I'm temped to the use the software update in YaST. Is there any thing
that I should be aware of when I do this ?
