Maybe it would be a good idea for some kind soul to write a "Suse 10.1
newcomers FAQ" on how to to 'finish' Suse 10.1 and post it EVERY DAY (in
upper case!)?

What a brilliant idea!!

But definitely NOT in uppercase please. Have you ever tried reading any
lengthy article in uppercase? It is bloody difficult.

I think he meant the subject to be in all caps not the whole post.

Daily is a bit much, weekly or fortnightly would be better. Does the FAQ
get posted here? I didn't see it in a search but I might have plonked it.
Who maintains the FAQ?

I meant the idea of posting FAQs on a somewhat regular basis was a good one.
I wasn't particularly thinking of it being posted on a daily basis. I think
a lot of people are put off SUSE Linux when they encounter a problem or two
at the start and can't find solutions. So they revert back to Windows.

There is definitely a need for simple basic (and I mean simple and basic)
instructions on how to set the thing up in very simple terms i.e. in
layman's terms, get the Internet connection going etc. I must say I am a bit
cheesed off with my ISP for not caring about support for Linux users. Yes,
you can connect using Linux but we are not gona help you, is what in effect
they told me. There!

But they do say that people who are well versed with Windows find the
changeover more difficult. I wonder why this should be so?

BTW, if I BUY the Novell box will it have simple instructions on how to set
it up (which I actually found quite easy to do) and how to establish
Internet connection (where I seem to have got lost!!!)?

Hopefully the 90 day support will be good or is it? How is it done? Via
emails??? Or can one phone them up and get a real person at the end of the
line? If so then it is worth every penny! Waiting to be informed in this
regard.
