Sure, just go ahead and plug it in.

There is no need to do that. Only if you need the swapping space. So, do
you need all that virtual memory? With that additional physical RAM you
have? I'd say that you don't.

He probably doesn't need the extra swap space with all that RAM, but.....in
the Oracle installation literature it does say to make the swap space equal
to 1.5 times the size of the physical ram so it 'might' be a good idea.
