No idea what software you are talking about. Most likely it is not
installed. Just install it. If it is not on the disks anymore, it
will most likely be on the repositories.

Actually that is the issue - I can't find the applet. If you are
using 10.0
right click on the panel and add a applet. You should see a
dictionary
applet. It's neat because if you are a bad speller (like me) you
can check
the spelling of a word. So if you have a source for the applet
would let me know.

On my install of 10.0 the KDE applet wasn't installed.
kdenetwork3-query provides the applet (kdict).
