There is MythTV, rather a leviathon but that will do what you want.

There is a european project called just PVR, somewhere.

Most assume a dedicated reciever/server/recorder box rather than a
desktop, but I know people have run mythtv as a desktop programme so it
should be possible.


I saw the MythTV and it looks interesting. Think I will give that a go. That is as soon as I free up some disk space.
