I tried PCLinuxOS. I was impressed, much better than Knoppix.
But no comparison to Suse 10.1. And I have not the bugs you speak of
and have as much speed as PCLin if not more. I believe I spend less than
an hour install 10.1. It can be bloated since it's 3.5 gig compresses
on a dvd or 5 cds. More is better when its free.
Actualy it is 6 CD's. Also if you add the repositories, you will get
even more available for installationith the openSUSE repositories you
can at least get the sam amount as the dual layer boxed version. Adding
extra repositories will also add even more.
Then there is the build server that slowly filling up:
http://software.opensuse.org/download/
And the fun part is that it wil build not only for SUSE, but for others
as well. For now RPM based, like Fedora and Mandriva. Sometime you also
see a Debian package.
Somehow I think this is even more exiting then SUSE itself when I look
at it and see what can be done with it.
