Hi
You can try to boot from any SuSE DVD and choose at the boot Prompt
"Boot from Hard Disk". Maybe, your system will boot then. (You should
reinstall grub one booted!!!)
But I would advice you first to backup you Data!
Either boot from any LiveCD/LiveDVD and do a backup (burn a CD/DVD, copy
via network on another Computer) or put the hard disk into another
working system, mount you partition and backup your data.

Hi,.
I was opening a tar.gz in Ark for preview via Remote Desktop connection
(local) and after a while, the Remote Desktop (RD) hang. I closed the
RD and tried to ssh into the workstation but failed. I could not regain
control of the workstation so I forced a power off.
And when I power on again, it dis not boot. The grub> prompt appeared.
What should I do now? Is there any grub command I can use to boot?
I am using SuSE 8.2 with YOU update (I don't know what I have updated
because it is quite some time ago and so far had no problem after the
update).
Please help. I have some important data on the hard disk which I have
not backup.
Thank you
