SUSE 10 install with EVMS

I am going to be installing Suse 10 (either SLED 10 or OpenSuse 10.1) on a
new system. I'd like to be able to use EVMS to setup the partitions during
install. However, in previous work with 10.1 I could never get EVMS
activated - even after the install. Is there a way to use EVMS during the
install on a clean system or do I have to install SUSE, then get EVMS
working?

Thanks.
