setting up a 10.1 box to become a router

Hello all,
I have tried setting up my SuSE 10.1 box to be a router but apparently
without luck.
The eth0 is set to automatic address setup via DHCP and is connected to
another network where the name server 1 has the address 192.168.1.1
wherefore I have set that address in the 'Primary Name Server IP' field.
So the eth1 I have given the address 192.168.100.2 and made it active in
the DHCP server at which I've then set the first IP adress to
192.168.100.100 and the last to 192.168.100.250. And I have put the
address 192.168.100.2 in the 'Default Gateway (Router)' field
Further I have set the 'Default Gateway' in Routing Configuration to
192.168.1.1 (the address of the name server 1).
The problem lies in the box meant to be a router. Because when I plug in
another computer and try to ping an address on the Internet the reply is
'unknown host' but connected directly the ping is a success.
Anyone who can tell where I've setup the router wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
