Hello,
I am having a problem with my internet connection on Suse Ent. 8. Yast
detects my network card and configures it fine, but I dont know how to
configure dhcp.
Under windows, i just plug in the cable and it automatically detects
the network and i can connect to the internet. I dont know how to do it
in Suse, i always used a modem (proxies).
I got the default gateway by doing ipconfig on windows cmd. Our IT do
not provide support for Linux/Unix platforms,
Most likely you need to configure your card. SUSE Enterprise 8 might be
a bit different, but try this (or some variation) yast, network devices,
network card. There you should be able to configure your card as dhcp.
Could be that is wasn't standard DHCP with SUSE 8. It is now.

and why. Then do it.
