Re: Differences between SLED 10 and OpenSuse?

Yes, google. ;-)

The other difference is that openSUSE has more software. And the other
is that SLED has a 5 year life span and SUSE (Soon openSUSE) has a 2
year livespan. That means that you get security updates for 2 years,
whereas for SLED and SLES you get 5 years (paid) updates.

Another is that openSUSE will have an 8 month release, which means every
8 months (used to be 6) there will be a new version. SLES and SLED have
a longer time between release dates.

The main thing is, if you are a homeuser, use the free one. If you are a
company, use the one they charge you. If that money is bothering you as
a company, then something is seriously wrong with your cashflow.

That is unless you decide to do Linux specific stuff, but then you would
have tried them both out and looked for yourself what the difference is.

Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done,
and why. Then do it.
