SuSE AutoYast obviously unable to transfer autoyast.xml via ftp?

Hello;
I habe some slight problems installing my systems over SuSE AutoYast
under SuSE SLES 9, 32-bit edition.
I've set up a package repository which exports the files via ftp, the
ftp-server is working well. I've checked it by accessing the directory
via ftp over command line and over my webbrowser. Both works, I can
access the autoyast.xml-file and download it. The same works with any
..rpm-file, e.g.
Now, when starting the installation over AutoYast, my system complains
about not beeing able to load this file from the server. When putting
the .xml file on a webserver and using http, everything works fine.
I've checked that the file is in unix-format, and all the rights for
accessing the file are also set to the right values.
Due to encountering the need for using ftp, I need to load everything
this way.
I'd be glad for any piece of advice on how to solve this problem,
Thanks in advance
Best regards,
Pingumarkus.
