I followed this...

turns out that the line DISPLAYMANAGER_XSERVER="Xgl" in
/etc/sysconfig/displaymanager got switched back to "xorg"
any ideas on how to keep that from changing?
Have you read this http://en.opensuse.org/Using_Xgl_on_SUSE_Linux? It
works for me and its looks nice too.
