I mentioned this one in another post yesterday. I thought NOSE (my

problems with the Zen package manager...but now they're coming clean and
supposedly fixed it. I am bittorrenting that 10.2 as fast as I can!!

There's just been this one little, well not so little really, problem:
the revised YaST package manager, which is used for adding new programs
and updating old ones, has stunk.

There have been fixes, but they've all left something to be desired.
Perhaps the biggest single problem was simply this: when you have a
broken package manager, how do you use it to fix itself?

It was doable. It was also painful.

But.............

Every time I bring up Suse's problems, I get told by the Linux zealots
that 10.1 has no problems.

Somebody is telling tall tales.......

And it's not me.........

If the question is "when you have a broken package manager, how
do you use it to fix itself?" it is a very stupid question.

The question has it's answer built in: The person asking has no
clue whatsoever.

If you say a clueless user is a problem then it is. But still
10.1 runs just fine in remarkable quantities of machines around
the world.

If one installed the first published version right, it worked.
The only thing was to run YaST immediately after installing,
that's all. And then it worked, still does.

Now the remastered version installs itself just by clicking the
mouse a few times and then it works.

I think you are telling tall tales yourself and obviously because
you have no clue either. But you're famous for this shit, so keep
up the crap by all means.
