Is there any way on God's earth that a Linux (Suse 10.1) newby like meHi
can install the latest Java? I can really do no more than use the KDE
gui, so that limits my chances. I've followed advice that has always
resulted in being told that such and such cannot be done, and so I
can't progress. Is there any FOOLPROOF way for me to do the job? I
can follow instructions, so I am able to use the wordy typity-type
thing, but my desire to learn Linux is fast being destroyed.
I'd welcome any person giving me a grunt by grunt set of instructions
that have been verified to work. Perhaps this is too big an order,
but I have made some progress in Suse 10.1 and don't want to admit
defeat yet. I can get the printer and scanner working, and use
Skype, but I have pretty limited ability, so there might be no hope
for me.
Thanks for any sensible advice.
