Start with 'minimal install' and then select what you want. Then it is
much easier to not install anything you do not want. Once you have done
that, you can start adding things that you want, but most likely this
_might_ result in selecting things that you might not want.
Some software depends on other software, so you have to select either
both or neither. The reason is that otherwise the selections you made
won't work anyway.
What houghi just described is the Curse of Unix. :*D
Why? I think it is a blessing. Say you have two programs. And they each
need a third program to run. If you don't install those two, you won't
install numver three.
Now if you install program one, it will install the third as well. Th
reason is that otherwise program one won't work. The same with program
two. If you install it, it needs the thrid one.
The good part is that if you would include it, then each package would
be much larger. Imagine that each KDE program would have the need to
include all programs to run it.
Or perhaps you would like to figure it out all by yourself what you need
and why a certain program does not run.

They say pesticides have been linked to low sperm counts.
In my opinion if you have bugs down there that are so bad
you need to use a pesticide, you're not gonna get laid anyway.
