Start with 'minimal install' and then select what you want. Then it is
much easier to not install anything you do not want. Once you have done
that, you can start adding things that you want, but most likely this
_might_ result in selecting things that you might not want.

Some software depends on other software, so you have to select either
both or neither. The reason is that otherwise the selections you made
won't work anyway.

houghi thanx for you reply. I understand why the dependencies are
installed, but when I tried to do an absolute bare minimum install by
unchecking everything when I try and install it comes up with a window
of dependencies which show just a handful of apps that are fine, but
then when it does the install it ends up installing tons more stuff
like the stupid YAST crap including postfix and the SUSEFirewall. Is it
just not possible to install without that stuff? If I want to be forced
to install crap I don't want then I might as well install windows, as
that is what it does best.
