no problems with OOo on KDE-desktop, sopensuse 10.2, 64bit version.

didn't work and sucked. am buying nvidia-based card anyways to replace the
onboard ati-thingy, so couldn't be bothered to experiment further.

I don't like .NET, not that I've ever used it, but have heard stories about it. ... essentially a runtime of modern MS libraries, it's part of the standard install on my Toshiba laptop and this IBM, it's also on the SP2 CD. ... I don't think anybody uses it to write drivers but many of the utility programs that wrap drivers use it. ... You may miss out on some options though (with video drivers usually relating to dual monitors, remembering windows positions etc.) ...
