Can anyone here see Windows (SMB) shares in 10.2?

I didn't get any takers on my more complicated request earlier, so now
I'd just like to know if anyone anywhere is successfully seeing SMB
shares from Windows on their 10.2 box. If I knew it worked for anyone
else, then I have hope and can keep fiddling.
I can see the 10.2 box's shares in Windows XP and also on my Ubuntu
box via Samba, but the 10.2 box can't see anything with SMB. Even with
putting the Windows and Ubuntu machines in the Hosts file or whatever,
it simply doesn't work. So if I want something from the XP or Ubuntu
machines, I just "push" it to the SuSE box, or I can "pull" it from
the SuSE box to XP or Ubuntu.
The SuSE box is very cool - recompiled the kernel with nVidia drivers,
run some Windows programs such as Agent with WINE, etc. It looks good
and runs good - just can't see my dang Windows or Linksys NAS shares
via SMB in 10.2. A pesky dumb problem. The Ubuntu machine does not
have that issue. It was a zero brainer. Dunno what I'm missing or
doing wrong in the 10.2, but it would help to know that if works for
somebody else, so I can have hope :^)
