I would like to remind you that Joerg Schilling is the original author of
cdrecord. There has been quite a political discussion about DVD support in
cdrecord, since this functionality was not available as free software. This
explains why the question about which backend k3b uses for writing optical
discs might launch an emotional discussion.
Do you like to talk about the fact that growisofs turned into free software
less than 2 months ago?
Cdrecord has always been free.....
Cdrecord started to support DVD writing in February 1997, growisofs started
around 2001. Cdrecord added it's DVD code to the OSS part in May 2006...
I am in hope that you do not like to start a political discussion.
