How do you get these two to talk to each other under 10.2? I managed
(still
not sure how) to get them to talk under SLED, but cannot under 10.2. Of
course, Openoffice only wants to read the 1.4 versions of Java (32 bit),
but that should work. I have the "mysql-connector" on ClassPath in
OpenOffice, as well as the "ODBC/JDBC bridge."
I know that SuSE sets the "root java" folder to "/usr/lib64/jre," which is
the 1.5 version of Java. However, if the folks at OpenOffice have not
totally screwed up, it should be able to run on the 1.4 version (32 bit)
and work fine, especially if the ClassPath is set.
What am I doing wrong coach? The only thing I can figure is that for some
reason the 32 bit version of Java is not able to read the
"mysql-connector" but doesn't really make sense either, or does it?
Thanks
Deb
Okay, how does one "eat crow" on a Usegroup?
You know it really helps if you activate the Mysql deamon in "System
Services(Runlevel).
My only excuse is that I have installed and dis-installed systems so often
in the past, I "thought" I had turned it on.
