Re: speed up suse
Hi Mohsen
- What is the intended use of the PC? Is it a standalone workstation,
does it serve other PC's? This will govern what you want to start/run.
- You can certainly go into the runlevel editor and disable what you
don't want. You might of course have to do some research.
- Is the machine resource limited? If you are low on RAM for example
that will slow things.
- There are other ways to speed up the boot process as well, like
disabling new hardware detection. Have a browse around on that topic. I
recall someone experimenting with a distro and getting it to boot in
maybe 1/3 the time.
I get around the start delay by not turning the PC off!
Cheers Bob
