boot.local - I broke it!

I attached to my machine remotely, and (bravely/foolishly... you
choose!) edited boot.local to start apache and MySQL on startup. I
added the following lines:
-/usr/local/apache2/bin/apachectl start
/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_safe-
I think I -may- have added the mysql line incorrectly. I said "shutdown
-r now" and lost access to the machine altogether. Fortunately, I don't
live all that far away, so I nipped home and the machine is now hanging
while trying to start MySQL.
So... how do I start my machine up, and stop it from processing
boot.local? It's suse 10.0, running on a Dell Latitude, or
something...
Help! I'm kicking myself, and it's beginning to hurt! :D
