Re: Dual Boot Problem - windows won't boot.

would the obvious solution have been to leave you Windows disk master and

Then the only thing to do is to install grub in the MBR of the master
(Windows) disk.

The only thing your missing is that I am a newbie and I didn't want to
screw up the windows disk whilst installing SUSE. In retrospect you
are of course right and I now seem to have screwed up the boot
altogether since I now get 'No Operating System' when I boot to Linux
and being a newbie I don't know how to recover from that. So, maybe I
shall swap the drives over and reinstall SUSE from scratch.

Just swapping the disks, and installing Grub should do the trick.
No need to reinstall Linux Completely. But it the easyest thing to do, of
course. So, if you have nothing to recover, go ahead.
Otherwise, editing /etc/fstab, replacing all hda with hdb, should get you a
long way allready.

There is a way to run the install disk(s) and ask to boot an existing
installation. But the option isn't as easy to find as it was in the 6.x,
7.x and 8.x releases.

Just do the edit above, swap the disks, and start installing. Take the
expert options, and see if you can't spot an option NOT to reinstall
everything.

Have fun. :-)
