I have recently installed Suse 10.2 64 bit on my AMD Athlon 64 x2,
installation went perfectly and I'm really impressed with the new set up.
The problem is that Suse doesn't recognise any USB ports or any devices
plugged into them, (camera, printer, scanner etc)
When running "USB View" it comes up wiht the error "Can't open the
file /proc/bus/usb/devices Verify you have USB compiled in your kernel
etc."
I have Googled for a solution and have come across others with the same
problem but haven't stumbled upon an answer yet.
Any suggestions? I'm a relative newbie but I'm willing to get my hands
dirty if somebody could point me in the right direction.

Hi Tony,
The 10.2 64 on AMD Athlon 64 works fine here, so it is not general problem
with x86_64 architecture.
Can you run in console as user root following commands :
lspci # what devices are recognized
lsmod # what modules are loaded
lsusb # short list of devices
hwinfo --usb
The lsusb will probably fail if drivers are not loaded.
Please post the output.
