Look at your boot messages (/var/log/messages) and see if the device is
a PCI Vendor-ID 127A and device 1002. If so, yes it is usable, and back
in the dark ages of 3+ years ago, at least one individual got it to work.
This web page is saying it's a Rockwell HCF chipset.
under SUSE 10.2?
That, I can't say.
I was hoping to use this for caller ID and faxing.
Can't say there either. You may want to read two HOWTOs
-rw-rw-r-- 1 gferg ldp 48060 Mar 13 2002
Conexant+Rockwell-modem-HOWTO
-rw-rw-r-- 1 gferg ldp 338097 Jan 17 13:42 Modem-HOWTO
the second one was just updated a few days ago, so you'll have to hit a
search engine to find it (or goto http://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/docs/HOWTO/
or http://en.tldp.org/HOWTO/HOWTO-INDEX/howtos.html).
Thanks muchly!
I've pulled the card while troubleshooting sound issues. I've also got an
Intel HAMFax modem that is supposed to work.
I'll post my progress.
Thanks again!
