10.2 -- Yast hanging while trying to setup a printer.

Hello,
I just loaded 10.2 on to a main machine, which, heretofore, was running
suse9.2. I did a scratch load. Pretty much everything is working
except setting up my printer.
I start yast up and go hardware-->printer. That window appears and
starts going through its sequence. Then it just stops and hangs. The
steps it goes through are:
Check environment
Read firewall settings
Starts Check database of printers
While Checking database of printers... It goes through to 40%.
A dialog appears saying, "The list of installed drivers has changed.
Building database of drivers..." It makes up to 4% and then hangs.
I was going to delete everything related to CUPS and reload, butwhen I
do that so many other packages complained that I did not go through with it.
Is there a way to debug what is happening here? I don't specifically
know what it is doing when it hangs.
Any clues?
