khelpcenter in 10.2 - index cache in each user's directory!

Has anyone else noticed that in 10.2 khelpcenter puts its index cache in
each user's directory {HOME}/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter ? ... Thus you
get an extra 30-40MB of duplicated data in each HOME.
In earlier releases, this data was centrally stored in /var/cache/susehelp
which was in the man group.
Anyone have any ideas why this was changed?
I wonder if it might be worth moving it to somewhere
like /usr/local/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter... setting the permissions so
any user's regeneration would rw access files there, and linking it to each
{HOME}? Could even put the link in /etc/skel ... ?
There are some settings in /etc/sysconfig/susehelp ?? As I read these, the
system *should* by default be using a central storage on localhost and
updating when packages added?? But it looks like (using sudo
susehelpindex --show) it is not using susehelp??
