SUSe10.2 and ATI driver Computer does not start anymore

Hello NG,
I installed yesterday SUSe10.2 and found her actually quite well compared
with the before installed 10,0, only the GUI was very slowly (KDE). No
problem, I thought and installed the driver from ATI. Said, done. I
downloaded thus the last driver from ATI and installed it in the automatic
mode. Afterwards I performed in the console "sudo aticonfig --initially".
Now the computer does not start any longer. That is, I select SUSe 10,2 in
the GRUB menu, then the hard disk begins to run, but the screen remains
black.
Also a CTRL+ALT+F1 does not function any longer and I must power the
computer off.
Any help would be appreciated?
The computer is a AMD ATHLON 64 3200+, ATI RADEON 9600, 1GB RAM, and I
installed the 32 BIT version of SUSe 10,2 (beside WINXP).
