You know, if there are more than five windows, it is not efficient to
switch between windows with Alt+Tab. How to set up a shortcut, say
Cltl+1, will always bring up the Firefox window, and Cltl+2 will bring
other window and so son.

Alt+F5 will give a menu list of every window on every desktop. Click on
your choice.

Does that work in Windowmaker, Gnome, KDE or any other or in all? Just
curious.

As I said I have programms running on different screens and I have no
screen behind another.

I know it works on KDE, as I hit it accidentally while doing something
else. Don't know if it's a KDE exclusive, as I've not tested it on
anything else.
