Hi,
Anyone using makeSUSEdvd with the DVD iso as source for the remaking?
I have just tried this, but the documentation is only based on cd
sources. I failed. I guess this will work for just upgrading the DVD,
or is there some other clever way on how to add rpms and making a new
DVD iso?
best regards,
Mike
I use a different method, which helps me get rid of the old rpms when
putting new ones to the DVD:
I copied the DVD to a folder, remarked two lines in the makeSUSEdvd script
so that it doesn't try to mount and unmount the cd and select cd source, not
iso.
This way I have the sources on the hd and I can inject there the new rpms,
delete the old versions, and run makesusedvd with the -I switch to create
the iso (while answering No to additional RPMs because they are already
included).
I use smart to update the vmware system I run, but I keep the updates with:
smart config --set remove-packages=false
Then, I copy the new rpms to the folder with the installation source, delete
their old versions, and so on...
However, I cannot find a way to replace the initrd and kernel that control
the installation of the system. Can someone point me to the right direction,
please?
Regards,
Yianni.
