First of all, without more information on what you're trying to
configure, there's little help anyone can give. The best thing you can
do is, paraphrasing another poster, "assume that nobody else can see
what's on your monitor and describe everything you can see"
Second, use "ls -l configure" to check and see if configure is
executable.
