10.2 sound card recommendation

I am using OpenSuSE 10.2 with a sound blaster Audigy. IIRC it is an original and not the highest horsepower unit they ever issued. It works well under ALSA but I would like to switch it with something having a front mount panel, you know the patch panel goes into an empty disc bay. Does anyone have any thought on such a model that will continue to work with ALSA? I presume the Audigy models are by now archaic.
