Re: Compiling can't find INCLUDES

I am trying to compile unichrome-20060322 because their website

into a problem with 'make' in the /linux-core directory. It cannot
seem to find the INCLUDE files located in the linux-2.6.18.6-jen44
directories such as /kernel and /lib. I tried copying all the header
files over to the /linux-core directories but that became such a mess
because of all the recursive linking/references. How can I tell
the 'make' program find those headers? It seems to find the ones it
needs in the directories above /linux-core.

Or does anyone know of an RPM that has the 3D drivers for the Via
Technologies onboard KM400 chipset?

Here is what you are looking for:

http://www.logix.cz/michal/devel/suse-openchrome/

Unfortunately it isn't. I already found that and installed the drivers.
It made no difference and I had no 3D options in SAX2. But after your
pointer, I went back and perused the website where I found mention of
editing the /etc/xorg.conf file and adding some comments manual (in
spite of the fact that the opening comments tell us not to edit that
file). For one brief moment after adding the extra lines to the file,
I had 3D. However I made the mistake of clicking on one of the 3D
games (GL-117) and got thrust back to the Sign On screen (the old DRI
problem) after which I lost 3D again. Or at least I get a "direct
rendering" no" on GLXINFO. At this point I haven't got the foggiest
idea of what is going on.

Of course there may be something I am overlooking. I did reboot because
after the game problem I retried glxgears which worked the first time
(when I had 3D) but hung the computer from which I could not regain
control. Even SysReq didn't work even though it was turned on in
etcSysConfig (does it work for anything?).

At this point I am almost ready to open up the case and put in an older
Nvidia card I swiped from another machine. However it is an Nvidia
Vanta L and I don't see much positive feedback on that card. It is
rated as discontinued support by Nvidia.
