Use cifs instead of smbfs.

What is cifs? Will it mount Windows shares?

I tried cifs instead of smbfs, but got the message "mount error: cifs
filesystem not supported by the system". Do I have to install it? How?

man mount.cifs

It should be there, unless this is a VERY old version
of SuSE.
