I know that 3D should work as it works perfectly with the Knoppix
LiveDVD. If only I could figure a way to copy their xorg.conf and
drivers over to the hard drive or any other storage medium while
running the LiveDVD, But it seems that the Knoppix LiveDVD on
simulates copying. It will make an Image copy of the /home directory
and I can put anything I want there. But I haven't figured out how
to
retrieve the information contained in the image file. Neither k3b
nor Ark can access that image file.
Save to a USB stick/device?
Tried that. It doesn't read or write to a real media device but rather
a pseudo one in RAM. It will make an image copy of the /home directory
(which is also a pseudo directory in RAM) and I can move what I want
there. However it writes it as an image file knoppix.image and I
haven't been able to find an application in openSuse that can read it.
Set up networking and email that file to yourself?
That one is doable but not as easy as a copy and paste might have been.
Set up a printer and print it?
I did that. The file is 5 pages long and it took me forever to repair
all the typos. It turns out that the syntax is a little different in
Knoppix than Suse and the parser doesn't recognize all the commands.
It works great until I have to reboot (playing around with some of
those 3D programs causes hangups, and I can't seem to recover from
them, not even with Alt-Ctrl-F2, nor SysRq, not Atl-Ctrl-minussign, not
even Alt-Ctrl-Del.), then xserver goes back into never never land.
Sometimes I can go into init 3 and do a sax2 and sometimes I have to
re-install X11 and the KDE files.
Show the file on the screen and take a picture?
OK, that last one was firmly with tongue in cheek, but the others
should work.
