I don't think the code differs from Suse, or any other distro for that
matter. They're the same applications. I really hope you *do* know that...

True, but load time depends on a number of things, including
how many other tasks are running. I've got 104 going on this
machine right now, more or less typical for a workstation/server,
which this is.
