SuSE10 KDE problems

Hello all!

I seem to have a number of problems that may not even be related to
the graphical environment - but at this point this is my best guess.
The problems basically amount to various applications - OpenOffice and
others - freezing for no apparent reason.

Anyone encountered that? Any suggestions?
